PART TIME MSK SONOGRAPHER
ABOUT US:
Shift Imaging is a leading provider of diagnostic imaging services committed to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and innovation. We are currently seeking a qualified Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound Technologist to join our collaborative and growing medical imaging team.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The MSK Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality sonographic examinations focusing on musculoskeletal anatomy including joints, tendons, ligaments, soft tissue, and peripheral nerves. The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced scanning skills, a strong understanding of anatomy and pathology, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound exams as requested by healthcare providers, using real-time imaging and dynamic assessments.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate interpretation and clinical correlation.
- Acquire and assess high-quality images in accordance with clinical protocols and standards of Sonography Canada.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records in compliance with privacy legislation (e.g., PHIPA).
- Support interventional procedures (e.g., ultrasound-guided injections and biopsies) where applicable.
- Participate in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited Canadian Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Current and active registration with Sonography Canada in good standing, with credentials in Generalist or MSK preferred.
- Additional certification in RMSKS (via Sonography Canada or ARDMS) considered a strong asset.
- Minimum 1–2 years of MSK ultrasound experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Up-to-date immunizations as per provincial guidelines.
