Shift Imaging’s COVID-19 policies are designed to improve social distancing and reduce overall crowding in the facility. Depending on clinic volume, patients may be asked to wait in their vehicles until our staff are ready for the exam. Specific instructions will be provided on the day of your appointment and we request you provide us with a reliable method of contact when booking your exam.

All patients/staff are screened on a daily basis and mask wearing is mandatory at our facility. Patients experiencing signs and symptoms of Covid-19 are directed to seek advice from their primary care provider regarding the urgency of the exam, and are encouraged to re-schedule when safe to do so. Due to the status of the current covid-19 outbreak, we are unable to accommodate guests during our obstetrical ultrasound exams.

All patients are asked if they have had following symptoms in the past 10 days

  • Cough
  • Fever
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Sore throat

Asymptomatic patients are screened to determine if they are in a 14 day quarantine for risk factors including

  • Returning to Alberta after having travelled internationally
  • Being a close contact of a person who is confirmed as having Covid-19

If patient screening reveals risk factors, signs or symptoms of Covid-19, we will defer your appointment until signs and symptoms have resolved and at least 10 days have elapsed from symptom onset. Urgent requests will be referred to the Emergency Department after consultation with the patient’s primary care provider, if clinically warranted.
